Muslim Tattoo Artist Travels Country To Follow Her Dreams // 60 Second Docs

Working and traveling the country out of her 1963 trailer-turned-mobile-tattoo shop Ink Minx, Muslim tattoo artist Shanzey Afzal created a safe space for women, the LGBT community and nonbinary people to receive tattoos. Despite being disowned by her family, and while typically tattoos are not accepted in the Muslim community — she says she can never go back to Pakistan — Afzal, who remains a faithful Muslim, still hopes to bring together her faith and her passion for tattoos.
